An llms.txt file is a short Markdown list of your most useful pages, placed at the root of your site for language models to read. Fill in the ticket; the file builds itself on the right and is checked against the format as you type.
Proposedllms.txt is a proposed convention, published at llmstxt.org. Nothing guarantees that any AI engine reads it. It is cheap to add, and it does not replace pages that answer your buyers’ questions.
llms.txt
Add a name and a one-line summary, and the file appears here as you type.
- llms.txt needs a name for the H1.
Then publish it
- Step 1
Save it as llms.txt
Plain text, UTF-8. Download it from the preview, or copy it into a new file.
- Step 2
Put it at the root of your site
It should load at https://yourdomain/llms.txt, next to robots.txt.
- Step 3
Keep it current
When a key page moves or a new one matters more, update the list. A link that 404s is worse than no link.
